Join in the celebration of Earth Day at the annual Green Gary program on Saturday, April 29, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Come join rangers and volunteers to celebrate Green Gary Day and start the spring out right! The family friendly celebration takes place at the Douglas Center and at Marquette Park with hikes, wildlife shows, gardening talks, and many other activities. Parking is available at Lake Street Beach with free shuttles to the program sites. Green Gary is presented in partnership with over 20 organizations including the Gary Parks Department and the Gary Department of Green Urbanism.

The Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education is located in the western portion of the national lakeshore at 100 North Lake Street, about one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 in the Miller neighborhood of Gary.
