Join staff and fellow volunteers for a morning of stewardship on Saturday, September 16, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, as we remove invasive plants from the Cowles Bog area of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Cowles Bog is one of the national lakeshore’s most threatened natural areas and is a designated National Natural Landmark because of its outstanding natural plant diversity. Please meet at the Cowles Bog north parking lot. Wear comfortable clothes; work gloves and other protective equipment will be provided.
The Cowles Bog north parking lot is located on Mineral Springs Road, approximately one mile north of U.S. Highway 12 and just south of the Dunes Acres guard house. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1882 or check out our website at www.nps.gov/indu and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/IndianaDunesNL.
