Join us on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center as we honor our nation’s veterans.

Watch the film Heroes on Deck and learn the role that Chicago and Lake Michigan played in training more than 15,000 World War II Navy Pilots. The story not only includes how the pilots were trained but also the recovery of some of the 100 aircraft that ended up at the bottom of Lake Michigan.

After the film, stay for a short presentation to learn about the free, newly implemented, Veterans Pass for National Parks and other federal lands.

The Indiana Dunes Visitor Center is located at 1215 North State Road 49 in Porter, Indiana, about one mile north of Interstate 94.
