INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: A time to read something, write something, or listen to other somethings. Late July and August present Northwest Indiana with the problem of squeezing every last drop of sunshine, warmth, and summer out of these days to come. The importance of reflection, appreciation, and mindfulness skyrocket during this season. Who are we to let all the happy days pass us by in the blink of an eye? Unremarkable and unrecognized? Summers are to be notably painted red with sinking sunsets and full of “remember when’s!”
Join us at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Sunday 7/29, Saturday 8/4, Sunday 8/12, and Saturday 8/18. We will launch each ‘slam’ with a historical piece inspired by the Indiana Dunes. All ages welcome. Bring your family and friends; no experience is required!

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore is one of 417 units of the National Park System ranging from Yellowstone to the Statue of Liberty. Located in Northwest Indiana, the park includes 15 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and 15,000 acres of biodiverse beaches, woods, prairies and marshes. More than two million visitors come to the Indiana Dunes each year.
