Independence Hall Tickets - Tour and School Groups

Tickets for Independence Hall are required from March through December.  Choose either walk up tickets, or reserved tickets.

Walk up tickets

Walk-up tickets for organized tours and school groups are distributed daily beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Market Streets (March through December). Tickets are limited in quantity, and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. On busy days, all tickets may be distributed by 11am.

  • A group leader may obtain up to 70 tickets, if tickets are available
  • The group leader must have a confirmation letter on school or organization letterhead listing the name of the person authorized to pick up the tickets
  • Teachers may use a current school ID in lieu of the confirmation letter. Commercial tour operators may use their own company letterhead to obtain tickets
  • You will need an additional person and letter for each group of 70 tickets requested
  • Tickets must be picked up at least 45 minutes before the tour
  • While the group leader waits in line, the rest of the group may choose to use the restrooms or browse the exhibits
 

Reserved tickets

Reserved tickets (March through December) are a good option for tour leaders who want to be certain that they can obtain tickets for the entire group at a certain time. Call the group reservation number toll free at 1-877-559-6777 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Eastern Time) or reserve your tickets through the reservation website.

  • The reservation fee is $1.00 per ticket. Passes, including the America the Beautiful Annual and Senior passes, do not cover this fee
  • Teachers and tour leaders may reserve up to 70 tickets on each call
  • The reservation agency will send you a confirmation letter with reservation number. Bring the reservation number and valid identification to the "Will Call" counter in the Independence Visitor Center (6th and Market Streets) at least 45 minutes before your scheduled tour on the day of your visit
  • Reserved tickets may only be picked up on the day of the tour
  • Tickets not claimed 45 minutes prior to the tour time will be released to walk-up visitors
  • There are no refunds under any circumstances. Please contact the reservation agency directly with any questions regarding the refund policy
