Independence Visitor Center Films
The Independence Visitor Center has two movie theaters, the National Park Service Theater and the Welcome Theater. Each serve as an excellent orientation to the park and surrounding area.
National Park Service Theater
The National Park Service Theater shows three short films designed as an introduction to Independence National Historical Park. The films show back-to back every 20 minutes.They are:
- Experience Independence National Historical Park - This overall orientation to the park is an excellent way to discover the many opportunities within the park to connect with the nation's history.
- Birthplace of Freedom: A Tour of Independence Hall - Unable to get a ticket to tour Independence Hall? Let this film take you through this internationally recognized and historic building.
- Then and Now: Independence National Historical Park - Chronicles the changes to the city landscape and buildings over 250 years, and showcases the success the National Park Service has had in preserving some of this nation's most important historic structures. 11 minutes FREE
Welcome Theater plays THE official welcome film to Philadelphia, plus seasonal short films. Each short is crafted to introduce you to all there is to see and do in and around the City of Philadelphia, no matter what time of the year you visit.
