Homestead National Monument of America is still accepting applications for the Homestead Community Garden! Applying is easy-pick up an appliation and rules at the Heritage Center or Education Center, 9 am - 5 pm, or download one from https://www.nps.gov/home/getinvolved/2015-Homestead-Community-Garden.htm. Then simply return it to Homestead National Monument of America or email it to Nicholas_Manes@nps.gov by Thursday April 2, 2015.
The Monument will provide a free 10' x 15' plot and water. One plot is allowed per application with a limit of two plots per address. No pesticides will be allowed. Plots will be selected by lottery on Friday, April 3, 2015. Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska and 45 miles south of Lincoln. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free of charge.
