The next installment of Ken Burn's nine part series "The West" will be shown on January 10 and 11 at 2 p.m.at the Education Center. This episode, "Empire Upon the Trails", features fur trading, fighting for self-determination in Texas, seekers of religious freedom in Utah or a better life along the Oregon Trail. With every step, they move closer to a "Manifest Destiny" that will make the West their own.
"We are excited to offer "The West" for the Homestead Film Festival this year. We hope you will join us each weekend through March 1for a different episode," stated Superintendent Mark Engler.
