Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

Upcoming Events

October 15, Family History Day - Free Programs

Education Center at Homestead National Monument of America
Programs begin at 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM

Join in the celebration at the Homestead Education Center for three interesting programs tied to family history. The first program will cover professional techniques for preserving your family’s photographs and documents, followed by an update on the Reynolds Family archival project. After that, there will be an update on the Homestead Records Digitization Project, including an overview of what’s in a homesteading case file and what states will be release on the web this October.

October 28, Howling Homestead - Free Event

Event begins at 6:00 PM

Looking for Halloween Fun?! Join the National Park Service staff at Howling Homestead on October 28, 2017, for an exciting evening! This FREE event will kick off at 6:00 p.m. at the Homestead National Monument of America Heritage Center. Through the generosity of the Friends of Homestead, the first 100 kids will receive a FREE pumpkin!

David Hendee Presenation and Book Signing - Free Event

Program begins at 1:00 PM

Homestead National Monument of America will host author David Hendee for a presentation and book signing at the Homestead’s Education Center on Sunday, November 5, at 1:00 p.m. In honor of Nebraska’s Sesquicentennial year, David will give a short presentation about where the inspirations for his book came from and how he used those inspirations to develop his book.

Todd Williams Presenation and Book Signing - Free Event

Program begins at 2:00 PM

Homestead National Monument of America will host fine artist, Todd Williams for a presentation and book signing at the Homestead’s Education Center on Sunday, November 5, at 2 p.m. In honor of Nebraska’s Sesquicentennial year, Todd will give a presentation about his journey to “paint one or more Masterful Paintings of each county in Nebraska.”
