Competitions

The Heritage Documentation Programs sponsors several annual competitions:

 

The HALS Challenge, open to everyone, awards prizes for documentation of our nation's cultural landscapes.

  • July 31: Completed entries are due.

The Charles E. Peterson Prize is awarded to the best sets of measured drawings prepared by student teams of a HABS site.

  • The deadline for 2016 contest entries has passed. Thank you to everyone who submitted entries. Please check back in early 2017 for details about next year's contest.

The Kenneth L. Anderson Prize, an adjunct to the Peterson Prize, is awarded to the best set of measured drawings prepared by a student team from a university in Texas.

  • Same deadlines as Peterson Prize.

The Leicester B. Holland Prize, open to both students and professionals, is awarded to the best single-sheet measured drawing of a HABS, HAER, or HALS site.
