E komo mai…come spend time with Hawai'i Island's cultural practitioners as they share the arts of Hawaiian culture. Meet on the lānai in front of the Kīlauea Visitor Center.

Hula implements are an essential component of both Hula Kahiko (ancient) and Hula 'Auana (modern). These implements are made from various natural materials such as bamboo, hau, gourds, rocks, etc.

Please come and join Volcano residents and dancers Nikki Kiakona and Keiko Mercado for a hands-on experience with some of the most frequently used hula implements.
