Haleakala National Park Issues Safety Stand-Down to Commercially Guided Bike Tours
A Safety Stand-Down of commercially guided downhill bicycle tours in Haleakalā National Park was ordered today, effective October 10, 2007, said National Park Superintendent Marilyn H. Parris. The Safety Stand Down affects the seven commercial companies that hold permits, also known as commercial use authorizations (CUA), to operate within the park. These authorizations will be terminated also effective October 10, 2007.
