Arlington, VA –Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 5:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m., the National Park Service (NPS) George Washington Memorial Parkway (GWMP) will close ramps from Memorial Avenue and the G. W. Memorial Parkway to Route 110 and southbound Route 27 for a cycling event.
No part of the Air Force Association Cycling Classic will take place on National Park Service land. Variable message boards will be put in place in advance to warn drivers of the closure. Every effort is being made to minimize traffic delays during this event.
Air Force Association Cycling Classic route –Participants will assemble in Crystal City at the start/finish line and ride on a portion of Route 1, ride up and down the entire length of Route 110 with a detour on southbound 27 and Columbia Pike to circle around the Air Force Memorial, and finish in Crystal City. The bicyclists will be doing laps on this course between 7:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. More information can befound on the organizer's website (http://www.cyclingclassic.org/).
