Prior to morning rush hour on Friday, May 29, 2015, the National Park Service, at therecommendation of Federal Highway Administration, announced a 10-ton load limit onArlington Memorial Bridge indefinitely. The 10-ton load restriction is intended to extend the lifeof the bridge deck for passenger vehicles. United States Park Police will begin activeenforcement of the load restrictions on June 22, 2015.
In response to the load restriction, the National Park Service has proposed the followingalternative routes for vehicles over the limit. These alternative routes are provided forinformational purposes only and do not represent a comprehensive list of all travel optionsavailable. The NPS is not responsible for unforeseen conditions that don't allow for these routesto be travelled.
