Parkwide Operational Modifications

  • Social distancing guidelines should be followed by all park visitors in all areas.

  • Special Use Permits of ten or less people may resume once areas reopen.

Fort Pickens Area

  • Open 7:30 am to 7:30 pm
  • Restrooms are limited to Langdon Beach, the restrooms outside of the Discovery Center, and those outside of the Mine Storeroom
  • Lifeguards are on duty at Langdon Beach
  • Campground, Discovery Center and Bookstore are planned to be reopened during Phase Three

Okaloosa Area

  • Normal operating hours and services

Santa Rosa Area, including Highway 399

  • Normal operating hours
  • Parking lot 36A along the gulf-side of Highway 399 is closed through the summer due to shorebird nesting
  • Roadside parking in the Santa Rosa Area is not permitted

  • All Opal Beach Complex parking lots are open

  • Restrooms at Clusters B1, B2, C, & D in the Opal Beach Complex are open
  • Lifeguards are on duty at Opal Beach

Naval Live Oaks Area

  • Normal operating hours
  • No restrooms
  • The headquarters exhibit area is closed

Perdido Key Area

  • Regular operating hours and services
  • Lifeguards are on duty at Johnson Beach

Ship Island

  • Closed due to Tropical Storm Cristobal damage
  • Ship Island Excursions will resume full operations when damage is repaired

Mississippi Barrier Islands

  • Petit Bois, West Petit Bois, and Horn islands, as well as, the NPS-owned portion of Cat Island are open
  • Group camping (groups of 10 or more) will not be permitted on Petit Bois and Horn islands

Davis Bayou Area

  • Facilities near the visitor center including the parking lot, picnic area, fishing pier, restroom, and all hiking trails are open
  • The William M. Colmer Visitor Center, the Davis Bayou Campground, and Robert McGhee Road and associated facilities including the boat ramp are planned to be reopened in Phase Three

Other Phases

  • Phase One - All park areas haved cleared phase one.
  • Phase Three - No areas have cleared the phase three criteria at this time.
