Ocean Springs, Miss. – Gulf Islands National Seashore announces its summer (June through August) ranger programs schedule for the Mississippi Areas of the park. All programs are free and subject to change without notification. For additional information, contact the William M. Colmer Visitor Center at Davis Bayou at (228) 230-4100.
All About Amazing Alligators
Fridays through Sundays at 2:30 pm; meet at the Nature’s Way Loop Trail.
30 minute program; accessible; fun for families (children must be accompanied by an adult).
The Nature’s Way Loop Trail is located on Robert McGhee Road at Davis Bayou.
Kayaking 101 - Reservations are required; call 228-230-4121
Saturdays at 9:30 am & 11:30 am; meet at the Colmer Visitor Center.
75 minute program. Fun for families (children must be accompanied by an adult). Kayak, paddles, and life jackets are provided for all participants.
Fort Massachusetts: Ship Island’s Silent Sentinel
Through August 12: Monday-Friday at 1:30 pm; Saturday-Sunday at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm
Beginning August 15: Wednesday-Friday at 1:30 pm; Saturday-Sunday at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm
30 minute program. Tours are held when the passenger ferry is operating. Meet inside Fort Massachusetts.
The William M. Colmer Visitor Center at Davis Bayou is open daily 9:00 am-4:30 pm, and is located at 3500 Park Road, Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
West Ship Island- Opens for the season on March 15, 2018, visit www.msshipisland.com for ticket information and ferry schedules.
