March 2017 Ranger Programs Schedule in Mississippi

Ocean Springs, Miss. – Gulf Islands National Seashore announces the March ranger programs schedule. All programs are free and are subject to change without notification. For additional information, contact the William M. Colmer Visitor Center at Davis Bayou at (228) 230-4100. There will be no public programs March 20-24, 2017.
 
All About Amazing Alligators
Tuesdays through Fridays & Sundays at 3:00 pm; meet at the Nature’s Way Loop Trail.
30 minute program; accessible; fun for families (children must be accompanied by an adult).
The Nature’s Way Loop Trail is located on Robert McGhee Road at Davis Bayou.
 
Osprey: A Unique Raptor
Saturdays at 9:30 am; meet at the boat launch
30 minute program; accessible; fun for families (children must be accompanied by an adult).
The boat launch is located off Robert McGhee Road at Davis Bayou.
 
Bayou Nature Walk
Tuesdays through Saturdays at 10:30 am; meet at the visitor center
30 minute program; accessible; fun for families (children must be accompanied by an adult).
The William M. Colmer Visitor Center is in the Davis Bayou Area.
 
The Live Oak Tree: A Naval Icon
Mondays at 1:00 pm; meet at the visitor center
30 minute program; accessible.
The William M. Colmer Visitor Center is in the Davis Bayou Area.
 
Bayou By Boat - Reservations are required; call 228-230-4100 then 0.
Mondays and Saturdays at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 3:00 pm.
60 minute program; accessible (water level may affect accessibility); fun for families (children must be accompanied by an adult). Life jackets are provided to all participants.

Campfire with a Ranger – For Registered Campers
Thursdays at 5:30 pm; meet in the Davis Bayou Campground
30 minute program; accessible, campfire.
 
Fort Massachusetts: Ship Island’s Silent Sentinel
Saturdays and Sundays between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm; request a program at the entrance to the fort. 
30 minute program. Fort Massachusetts is located on West Ship Island.
 
Island Critters: Air, Land, & Sea
Saturday, March 18 at 11:00 am; meet at the picnic pavilion near Fort Massachusetts.
30 minute program; accessible; fun for families (children must be accompanied by an adult).
West Ship Island is accessible by boat only, visit www.msshipisland.com for schedules and prices.
 
Areas Information:
The William M. Colmer Visitor Center at Davis Bayou is open daily 8:30 am-4:30 pm, and is located at 3500 Park Road, Ocean Springs, MS 39564.
 
West Ship Island- Accessible only by boat. Visitor services reopen March 18, 2017.
