An Ethnographic Study of Guilford Courthouse
National Military Park
Beginning in October 2012, Guilford Courthouse National Military Park, in conjunction with East Carolina University, will begin conducting an ethnographic overview of the Park. The purpose of the study is to document the use and importance of the Park to different members of the greater Greensboro community, including members of various ethnic, religious, patriotic, commemorative, historical, and other groups. The study will run through the summer of 2013 and will involve interviewing members of the greater Greensboro community about their uses of the Park, collecting oral histories and written and visual materials about uses of the Park, and developing general information about the Park's significance to Greensboro's past, present, and future. Persons interested in hearing more about the study or participating in the research should contact the Park directly or contact Dr. David Griffith (firstname.lastname@example.org) at East Carolina University via e-mail.
