Life on the Edge

Life on the Edge ecology program
Mountain lions are just one of the animals adapted for survival at Grand Canyon.

This five-hour ecology program focuses on interrelationships between living and non-living components within ecosystems. Students explore the forest and rim of Grand Canyon while learning about biological and ecological concepts such as adaptations, niches, and life cycles. Games, sensory awareness activities, and hands-on activities are used to actively engage the students in the learning process. A quiet reflection activity gives the students a chance to foster their own connections with the remarkable Grand Canyon landscape.

Length of program: 5 hours
Walking distance: 2.5 miles
