Due to Covid-related travel concerns, we are currently on hold for scheduling Classroom Ranger programs for the 2022-2023 School Year.
We will continue monitoring the situation and will update this page when we are able to resume scheduling in-class programming.
If you would like to schedule a virtual program, please see the park's Distance Learning webpages.
Overview
Every year, park rangers travel throughout Arizona, southern Utah, and the Las Vegas area, conducting lessons in the classroom. All programs are curriculum-based (based on Arizona State Education Standards) and free of charge. Topics include geology, ecology, astronomy, and history.
Classroom Ranger programs are conducted between January and March.
Each individual program is one hour long
Each individual program limited to one class at a time (35 students).
It is preferred that we conduct multiple programs per day at a school. A minimum of 3 programs per day at a given school is preferred for scheduling purposes. Please include a lunch break for the park ranger.
