Boating Accident on Lake Powell Information on Accident Victims

Page, AZ – The names of the victims of Saturday’s boating accident on Lake Powell have been released:

Survivors of the accident include Mr. James (Jim) Brady and Mrs. Heather A. Brady, both of St. Pete Beach, Florida.

Known deceased are Mrs. Mary Anne Taranto of Prescott Valley, Arizona and Mrs. Katherine Prescott of St. Petersburg, Florida.

Still missing are Mr. Terry Michael Taranto of Prescott Valley, Arizona and Mr. Robert Prescott of St. Petersburg, Florida.

All three couples were in their late 50’s and early 60’s.

Search and rescue operations began the afternoon of Saturday, April 25th following a call notifying NPS dispatch of an overdue boating party. An NPS ranger responding to the call located Jim and Heather Brady on the shoreline at Padre Butte. The body of Mrs. Katherine Prescott was recovered from the shoreline at that time.

NPS rangers recovered the body of Mrs. Mary Anne Taranto on Sunday morning during ongoing operations. The search will resume Monday morning for the two missing victims.

Investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing. Weather is believed to have been a contributing factor.
