Superintendent Todd Brindle invites you to participate in the 113th annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count on Thursday, January 3, 2013, in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.  New birders will be paired with experienced individuals, making this a great way to start learning the birds of Glen Canyon.

Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. at park headquarters-- 691 Scenic View Rd. at the intersection of Scenic View Rd. and Highway 89. Birdwatchers will be in the field until 5:00 p.m., so dress warmly, bring lunch and water, plus binoculars and a bird book if you have them.

The Audubon Christmas Bird Count is a long-standing citizen science tradition that brings together people who love birds and want to make a difference for science and bird conservation. Glen Canyon is one of many locations in Arizona that participates in the annual bird count.
