In collaboration with park concessioners, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is announcing modifications to concessions operations. Changes implement the latest guidance from the White House, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), and local and state authorities to promote social distancing.
As of March 19, 2020, the following operational changes will be implemented by park concessioners: To limit gatherings of 10 or more, Aramark is suspending all boat tours and river rafting float tours until further notice. Food will be available for takeout only at the Driftwood Lounge, located at the Wahweap Marina. The Wind Coffee Bar located in the lobby at Lake Powell Resort remains open. The Rainbow Room located in the Lake Powell Resort is closed. The Anasazi Restaurant located at the Bullfrog Marina is offering takeaway service only.
At Antelope Point Marina, located on the Navajo Reservation near Page, Arizona, boat tours are suspended until April 1. Beginning March 22, boat charters will be suspended until the end of the month. The Jádí Tó oh - Restaurant at the Point is closed to the public.
The park is working with the City of Page, its partner at Horseshoe Bend Overlook. The park urges visitors to Horseshoe Bend Overlook to do their part in keeping each other and the larger community healthy and safe by following CDC guidance to prevent the spread of infectious diseases by practicing social distancing and avoiding congregations of 10 or more people.
As announced March 18, the National Park Service is temporarily suspending park entrance fees until further notice. All visitors to the park are reminded to maintain a safe distance between yourself and other groups; wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth; cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze; and most importantly, stay home if you feel sick.
