Did you know that 339,626 volunteers collectively contributed over 8 million hours of volunteer service at our national parks in 2016? We call these volunteers our VIPs, and they work side-by-side with our National Park Service employees in park programs across the nation to help preserve our nation’s most precious natural, historical, recreational, and cultural treasures.

Each year, we celebrate National Volunteer Week to recognize the contributions of our volunteers. Next year's celebration takes place April 15–22, 2018.

There are many ways to get involved. Join a volunteer event.
