Did you know that more than 302,000 volunteers collectively contributed more than 7.2 million hours of volunteer service at our national parks in 2018? We call these volunteers our VIPs, and they work side-by-side with our National Park Service employees in park programs across the nation to help preserve our nation’s most precious natural, historical, recreational, and cultural treasures.

Each year, we celebrate National Volunteer Week to recognize the contributions of our volunteers. This year's celebration takes place April 7–13, 2019.

There are many ways to get involved. Join a volunteer event.
