Please join General Grant National Memorial to learn about Grant’s role in the American Indian Wars on Saturday June 16th at 1:15pm at the Visitor Center.
 
During this critical time period in American history, from the Civil War’s end in 1865 to the Battle of Little Big Horn in 1876, Grant served as the Commander of the United States Army and later as our 18th President. Learn about Grant’s “Peace Policy” and how his appointment of Seneca Native American Indian Ely S. Parker as the Commissioner of Indian Affairs helped wain the conflicts until conflict broke out at Little Big Horn.
 
Join us to learn more about Grant’s policy on Native Americans during his time as Commander of the Army and President. All ages are encouraged to attend!
