December 13 -- Friday--Cannon Dedication Ceremony.10:50 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.Program to dedicate replica cannon at the positionof Confederate Major John Pelham.Held at intersection of VA Rt. 2 and BenchmarkRoad 4 miles south of Fredericksburg. Ceremony includes a cannon firingdemonstration.Sponsored by CentralVirginia Battlefield Trust.


December 14 – Saturday--LivingHistory Program. 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Held at Riverfront Park on Sofia Street indowntown Fredericksburg.Programincludes rifle firing demonstrations at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00p.m.Living History participants will bedepicting Federal soldiers, Confederate soldiers and Civil War era civilians.Sponsored by 28th Massachusetts and47th Virginia.

December 15 – Sunday--IrishBrigade Walking Tour.12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Begins at theFredericksburg City Dock locatedthe south end of Sophia Street and will conclude at 2:00 p.m. at the KirklandMemorial along Sunken Road. ParkHistorian Frank O’Reilly will be accompanied by living historians of the 28th Massachusetts.Sponsoredby 28th Massachusetts, Company B.

December 15 – Sunday--Battle ofFredericksburg Annual Commemorative Event.2:00 p.m. Held at the Kirkland Memorial, adjacent to theFredericksburg Battlefield Visitor Center, 1013 Lafayette Blvd,Fredericksburg.Matthew J. Kelly, an elected official on theFredericksburg City Council and a member of the 28th Massachusetts,Company B, living history unit, will be the featured speaker.Ceremony will include color guards, livinghistory soldiers, the laying of wreaths and the playing of Taps.Sponsored by the National Park Service.
