Help your pup become a Bark Ranger! This ranger-led outdoor walking tour, designed for visitors and their dogs, will discuss the history of dogs at Fort Vancouver and Vancouver Barracks, as well as the overall history of the site. The tour will also highlight how to explore the park safely with dogs.
The walk will begin at the outdoor area just outside the doors of Pearson Air Museum's main hangar. The walk will cover a round-trip distance of about a mile on a paved trail with little incline. There will be an option to continue on an additional longer distance loop with an incline.
Participants should bring: their dog, who is friendly with other dogs and people and up-to-date on vaccines and licensed, waste bags, food and water for pup if necessary, a leash no longer than 6 feet, walking shoes and weather protection (sunglasses, sunscreen, water bottle, or umbrella).
In case of inclement weather, this tour may be rescheduled. Please check www.nps.gov/fova, or the park’s Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/FortVancouver/) or Twitter pages (@FtVancouverNPS) for updates.
