Hey Kids! Spring is finally here! Celebrate the first day of spring by shadowing historical characters from Fort Larned's past.The staff of Fort Larned is pleased to offer this youth program from 1 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 17. Step across the fort's bridge and step back in time. You'll become the son or daughter of people who worked during the active fort period –a captain, hospital attendant, blacksmith, teacher, and more. This program of exploration is for children ages 6 –10. Older students are encouraged to sign up as program assistants. A 19th century snack is included.
Group size is limited so call today to reserve your child's spot, 620-285-6911. In the case of inclement weather please call the park.
In celebration of the National Park Service Centennial, Fort Larned National Historic Site invites you to discover the meaning of national parks, how your park inspires you - both in personal connections and memorable experiences.Fort Larned National Historic Site is located six miles west of Larned on Kansas Highway 156.Open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., information on visiting is on our Plan Your Visit page, or by calling 620-285-6911.
