Storytellers Perform for Local Schools and at Fort Donelson National Battlefield

Dover, Tennessee—Renowned Storytellers Sparky and Rhonda Rucker will make appearances at local schools and at the Fort Donelson National Battlefield on August 21 and 22, 2009.  The couple use music, songs, and folk stories to excite audiences about American history.

Sparky Rucker is an avid storyteller and has delighted audiences at schools, parks, and public events for over 40 years. Rhonda Ruckeris an accomplished harmonica and piano player, and adds vocal harmonies to their songs. She has developed her own unique style of playing harmonica, which complements their music.The couple has 11 recordings to their credit, and performance highlights include KennedyCenter teacher workshops, 2003 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, and the International Children’s Festival.

The event is free, made possible by grant funding from the
Lower Mississippi River Delta Initiative (LMRDI).
