A variety of events for all ages will be offered during the month of July at Fort Donelson National Battlefield.
On Saturday, July 2, a special Junior Ranger activity will be offered at the Dover Hotel (tour route stop #10), along Petty Street, in Dover. The program is scheduled for 2PM.
On Sunday, July 10, a special Junior Ranger arts and craft program will be offered at the visitor center, along Highway 79, and will introduce special ways to get to know some of the animals that call Fort Donelson home. The program is scheduled for 2PM.
On Thursday July 14, the park’s Civil War film series continues at the visitor center with a showing of the film from Manassas National Battlefield Park, in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the first Battle of Manassas. The program is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
On Saturday, July 23rd, the Civil War Singers will offer a special concert at the Confederate Monument, Stop #1, at 6:00. Parking instructions will be provided that evening.
On Thursday, July 28, at 10 AM, a special book club for kids will be offered. Some copies of “The Mostly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg” are available at no charge for participants. Please call (931)232-5706, ext. 108 for a copy. All ages welcome!
Daily, from now until September 1 (except for July 18-23) Park Rangers will be available at the River Batteries (stop #4) at 11:00AM, the National Cemetery (stop #11) at 1:00PM, and at the Dover Hotel (stop #10) at 3:00PM. Visitors are encouraged to come and chat with a Ranger! (Schedule may be changed because of weather or staffing.)
