Dover, Tennessee—Park entrance gate hours will change on November 1, 2009. Gates at both the main entrance and NationalCemetery roads will be locked by 5 pm daily. No vehicles will be permitted past the gate entrances after 4:40 pm, and all traffic must leave the park by 5 pm.
These changes to the gate hours coincide with the change from Daylight Savings Time. Gate hours will change again in March 2010. Gates were installed in various locations around the battlefield to provide better security in early 2009. Walking in the park is encouraged and permissible. The installation of new gates will facilitate management and control of vehicle traffic only.
