Fort Donelson National Battlefield's Civil War Sesquicentennial Film series will continue on Thursday, August 11, 2011, at 6:00 PM, with a showing of the silent film classic "The General" starring Buster Keaton. Keaton plays a man who wants nothing more than to join the Confederate States Army, but the Confederates feel he is more useful as a locomotive engineer.

The film is one of the classics of American cinema, and a good example of how Hollywood interpreted the Civil War on the movie screen.

There is no charge for this film, which will be shown at the Fort Donelson National Battlefield visitor center, along HWY 79 in Dover.
