Fort Donelson to be Closed Christmas Day and New Years’ Day
Dover, TN – Fort Donelson National Battlefield Superintendent Brian McCutchen wishes to announce that on Sunday, December 25, 2016, and Sunday, January 1, 2017, all visitor facilities, offices, and grounds of Fort Donelson National Battlefield will be closed in recognition of the Christmas and New Year’s Day federal holidays.
The park’s temporary visitor orientation center, located in the Stewart County Visitor Center, and the Dover Hotel exhibit room, will be open during normal hours of 8:00AM to 4:30PM on Monday, December 26 and Monday, January 2, 2017, as will all park gates and roads.
Superintendent McCutchen, together with the entire staff and volunteers of Fort Donelson National Battlefield, wish all a safe and happy holiday season, and thank everyone for their support of the national park during this year - in particular as the National Park Service celebrates in 2016 its Centennial. The park team looks forward to continuing to serve its visitors as the National Park Service enters its second century, to protect and preserve the park and its resources for future generations.
