Dover, Tennessee -- The Civil War Trust and Fort Donelson National Battlefield are partnering to host a one-day volunteer event called Civil War "Park Day," on Saturday, April 5, 2014, starting at 9:00 AM.  For the event volunteers may help revitalize native plant gardens at the Visitor Center, Comfort Station, and Dover Hotel. Volunteers may also wish to help remove leaves and other debris from historic earthworks, clean signs and exterior exhibits. Participants will receive a satisfaction of knowing their efforts, along with the Civil War Trust and National Park Service, are helping keep America's Civil War heritage alive by caring for Fort Donelson National Battlefield for future generations. Interested volunteers can call Bill Barley at (931)232-5706, ext. 109, to register.
