  1. Watch the movie again, concentrating on the boys' faces in the many pictures and film clips of them. What do you think is going through their minds? Put yourself in their place and write a paragraph about what you would be thinking.
  2. Pretend that you are one of the CCC boys and write your first letter home. Then, as a class, share them and discuss the different ways each of you described the situation to your family.
