  1. Do a bit of research on the Stock Market. What is it? How does it work? How do people make and lose money?
  2. Using an imaginary $10,000, invest in the stock market and follow the progress of your shares. Report on it each day and then write about your success (or lack of) after a month.
  3. Lots of factors led to the Great Depression of the 1930s - lots of new products on the market that people wanted, banks and businesses lending money and allowing credit freely, the drought and dust storms... Make a list of events that have or might affect the country's economy in more recent times.
  4. Watch the movie again and pay particular attention to the part about different economic philosophies for helping the nation out of an economic depression. Write a paragraph about your first impressions of the different philosophies.
