Many of the photographers represented by Sun to Moon Gallery have been inspired by Yosemite National Park and intimately involved in photographing the park for many years, so it is a natural to present a photographic celebration to honor the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Yosemite Grant Act, widely credited as the beginning of the national park idea.

The gallery will bring together an impressive group of fine photographic prints featuring works by well-known contemporary Yosemite photographers, thirteen in all, including Alan Ross and John Sexton, the great Ansel Adams’ last two Photographic Assistants. Fine prints by Annette Bottaro-Walklet, Dan Burkholder, Charles Cramer, Jeffrey Conley, Karl Kroeber, Anne Larsen, Scot Miller, Mike Osborne, Jill Skupin Burkholder, Keith S. Walklet and R.P. Washburne will also be displayed and offered for sale. In addition, gallery owners Marilyn & Scot Miller will display “Yosemite Falls by moonlight, Yosemite Valley (California, 1986),” a print from their personal collection by the late photographer Galen Rowell.

The gallery will offer three screenings per day of “Yosemite: A Gathering of Spirit” on Thursdays through Saturdays from May 15 through June 14. The screenings are open to the public but seating is limited and reservations are recommended by calling Sun to Moon Gallery at 214-745-1199.
