This view from the porch of the Visitor Center in Apgar provides a glimpse into the human side of things here in the park. Although from this view it looks like everything is closed for the winter, a few of the businesses are still open. The Visitor Center is only open on weekends, so the flagpole will be down except on Saturday and Sunday, but expect to see bus loads of kids enjoying winter field trips to the park. They use the visitor center on winter weekdays from January through March.
