In honor of the NPS Centennial kickoff on March 2, James A. Garfield National Historic and the City of Mentor erected 6 new pole banners on Mentor Avenue, a main east-west route through northern Ohio. These pole banners, one which shows the Garfield home and the other a Junior Ranger, will be seen by nearly 30,000 vehicles every day. The stretch of Mentor Avenue, or Historic Route 20, that runs in front of the Garfield home is in a busy, suburban area full of shopping and restaurants where locals and out-of-towners alike gather daily. We hope the beautiful green tones we've picked up from the centennial logo will attract the eye as people drive underneath the banners, and encourage them to "Find Their Park"!
