National parks across the system engaged in a variety of activities to prepare for and celebrate the centennial. Everglades National Park was a big part of this effort. Take a look at what we did and join us as the National Park Service enters a new century in 2017!
Students at the local George T. Baker Aviation School refurbished a Cold War era Nike Hercules Missile for display at Everglades National Park. Veterans who served at the South Florida Nike sites were invited to the site for a Grand Opening during the 50th Commemoration of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Read more
In 2012, Face of America: Spirit of South Florida featured Big Cypress National Preserve, Biscayne National Park, Dry Tortugas National Park, and Everglades National Park. Read more
