Earn a Junior Ranger Badge!

The Junior Ranger Program is a great way to learn about your national parks, whether you are a kid or kid-at-heart!

To earn a Junior Ranger badge from El Malpais National Monument, you or the Junior-Ranger-to-be must complete the number of activities that depending on age (or the whole book!) and get sworn in by a ranger.

You can receive your booklet in person at the El Malpais Visitor Center, download and print it out at home, or contact us to receive one in the mail. If you pick up a booklet on a visit but will not be in the area to earn your badge, the booklet can be mailed to the El Malpais Visitor Center so rangers can look over it.
