Field Trips

Eisenhower National Historic Site offers a variety of education field trip programs for grades 4 to 12. Reservations may be made by phone: 717-338-9114 Ext 4411, faxing/mailing the form below, or e-mail us. Programs are 11/2 to 3 hours in length and are typically scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., but we can usually accommodate your specific scheduling needs. All fees are waived for classes attending any of the programs.

    Conflict! The Eisenhower Years: Site Visit

    Eisenhower and Prime Minister Nehru at the President's Gettysburg farm, December, 1956.

    Eisenhower invited many world leaders to his farm at Gettysburg. In December, 1956, Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru visited the farm for an overnight stay. Students will use primary source documents - the actual briefing papers and schedules - to develop their own planned visit for this world leader.
