Colorado/Utah – Dinosaur National Monument announces a free public presentation titled Stars Above, Earth Below: Astronomy on the Colorado Plateau to be held on Tuesday, May 13 at 7:00 PM at the Uintah County Library, located at 204 E 100 N, Vernal, Utah.
Dr. Tyler Nordgren is an author, artist, astronomer and night sky ambassador who has worked with the National Park Service since 2005 to promote the appreciation and preservation of naturally dark skies. His award-winning night sky photography and creative twists on WPA-style travel posters promote the idea that "half the park is after dark." Dr. Nordgren will present an awe-inspiring visual tour of naturally dark places like Dinosaur National Monument while discussing the role of national parks and the communities that surround them as protectors of some of the last truly dark skies in the United States.
This free public program is presented by Dinosaur National Monument, the Uintah Mountain Club, and Uintah County Travel & Tourism.
