Dinosaur, CO & Jensen, UT— The lottery application period for high-use season river permits opens December 1, 2017 and runs through January 31, 2018. Applicants can apply at www.recreation.gov. A non-refundable $15 application fee is charged for lottery applications. Applicants can file only one application, but they may choose up to four possible launch date/river choices on the application. The Yampa and Green rivers are combined in one drawing system.

Application results will be emailed out by the middle of February. Applicants can also log into their recreation.gov account and find out the status of their application. Applicants who successfully secure a launch through the lottery are required to confirm their acceptance of the date they won by logging into their recreation.gov account and pay for their permit online no later than February 27th. Failure to do will result in the permit being revoked.

On March 1, 2018 at 8:00 AM Mountain Standard Time all unclaimed, revoked, and low use season permits will be available through recreation.gov on a first come first serve basis. One-day permits for the Split Mountain section of the Green River, launching at Rainbow Park will also be available beginning March 1, 2018.
