History is Alive at Camp uzita

De Soto National Memorial begins its living history season on Saturday, December 11th. Park Staff dress the parts of 16th century Europeans and give talks and demonstrations about Conquistador Hernando de Soto's 1539 expedition and the Native American societies they encountered. Four progarms are offered Wednessday through Sunday from 10-3 with weapon demonstrations featuring the matchlock arquebus. Camp Uzita will be closed December 25th and January 1st and all programs are subject to cancellation due to weather.
