Brecksville, Ohio – In celebration of National Trails Day, the National Park Service and the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park are seeking volunteers from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013 in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This event will also commemorate the 80-year anniversary of the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC). Meet members of the CCC and volunteer on a trail sweep and other CCC-related projects around the Virginia Kendall area to carry on their legacy. Trail sweeps with Adopt-a-Trail crews include pruning branches, cleaning out ditches and culverts, and picking up litter. Other projects will be with Cuyahoga Valley Trails to restore the CCC-installed stone bollards, which includes heavy lifting. This event in Cuyahoga Valley National Park was made possible with financial support provided by NEEF and Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc.
Volunteers who donate 4 hours of service can sign up to receive a ticket voucher for two (2) Upper Box or two (2) Mezzanine tickets to a 2013 Cleveland Indians game, courtesy of Business Volunteers Unlimited and the Cleveland Indians.
