Brecksville, Ohio – The National Park Service will close the railroad crossing at SR 303 in the Village of Peninsula from 7 p.m., Sunday, April 10 until 5 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2011. The purpose of the closure is to replace the deteriorated railroad crossing and to provide safer travel for the public using SR 303. This is closure is part of an ongoing project to rehabilitate nine miles of rail being completed Railroad Constructors, Inc.
The National Park Service owns the historic Valley Railway on which Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad operates scenic excursions and educational programs year-round.
This project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The public will be able to follow the progress of each project on www.recovery.gov and on www.interior.gov/recovery.
Detour signs will be posted on site and are available online at www.dot.state.oh.us (select District Four) or call 330-786-2209.
