Brecksville, Ohio – Beginning January 8, 2011 until early summer, the Rockside Boarding Station in Independence will be closed for construction. Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) will temporarily relocate operations from Rockside Station to Canal Visitor Center and Brecksville Station for regular excursions and to Brecksville Station for special events and school groups. The construction will include the expansion of the boarding station and parking lot to better serve the visiting public. This project is funded by the National Park Service Federal Lands and Highways Alternative Transportation Program. The contractor is Pinnacle Construction and Development Group from Willoughby, Ohio.
