Metro Parks, Serving Summit County
Beginning Tuesday, May 31 and continuing for approximately five months, the parking lot and restrooms at the Brandywine Falls parking lot in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, 8176 Brandywine Rd., Sagamore Hills, will be closed for construction.
Limited parking and portable restrooms will be available in a temporary lot. Buses and RVs cannot be accommodated. Access to the falls will be limited and there will be no wheelchair accessibility. Visitors are encouraged to visit on weekdays instead of weekends.
The work, a collaborative effort between Metro Parks and the National Park Service, will triple in size the existing lot from its current 30 spaces. It serves visitors to Brandywine Falls, one of the national park’s most popular destinations, and users of the metropolitan park district’s 33.5-mile Bike & Hike Trail.
Simultaneously, Metro Parks is rerouting a one-mile section of the multipurpose trail so users will not have to share Brandywine Road with vehicular traffic.
The trail work could be completed by year’s end.
