NPS Reopens All Closed Sections of Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail

Brecksville, Ohio – The National Park Service has reopened all of the sections of the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The trail was closed on December 21 due to anticipated flooding. The Towpath Trail is now open from Station Road Bridge Trailhead in Brecksville to Lock 29 Trailhead in Peninsula.

CVNP encompasses 33,000 acres along the Cuyahoga River between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. Managed by the National Park Service, CVNP combines cultural, historical, recreational, and natural activities in one setting. For more information visit www.nps.gov/cuva or call 330-657-2752.

This information line is answered by staff at Boston Store Visitor Center. Core hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and hours may be extended during peak season. Boston Store Visitor Center is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
